 ikri Vigla is one of the finest and most beautiful beaches of the Aegean Sea
and it is located on the south west side of Naxos. The area is considered as
unique because it consists of one bay that is divided by an impressive hill to
two different beaches. Historically, this hill has been used as a watch out point
for the local people against enemies and pirates.
Nowadays, Mikri Vigla is a very popular beach because of the advantage of
the two beaches that allow to the guests to swim and relax no matter if the

 f you like underwater activities starting from the south beach heading north
you can also take the opportunity to have a snorkeling ride around the cape
rocks. The underwater scenarios are beautiful with a lot of fishes. Snappers,
groupers, soles, octopus can be spotted. Also moray eels and turtles can be
seen.

 n the north side of Mikri Vigla the small bay of Parthenos is available for the
funs of windsurfing and kitesurfing. The seaside is 650m long and it is ideal for
water sports activities because of the north wind (Meltemi) that blows usually
in Naxos. Mikri vigla spot is considered as one of the best spot in the Cyclades.

Morphological and geographical characteristics and the proximity of Paros
Island create unique conditions where wind blowing through the strait between
the two islands is speeding up. In particular in August wind is blowing quite
every day mainly from N NNE almost parallel to the sandy beach with a
constant intensity of 15/20 knots with peaks of 30. The wind conditions added
to the bay morphological characteristics grant a perfect playground for a wide
range of surfers, starting from beginners up to the highest performers.
The proximity of Paros also prevents the creation of too high waves granting
an ideal spot for both windsurfers and kite surfers of any level.
